After 9 months in Sheffield, it's finally time to go back home.
And leave the room and flat that I have occupied and done many things for the past few months.
Also, the view I see every single time I enter my room.
Things were pretty hectic the week before heading back. Exams ended just the week before my flight but yet, there were still quite a bit of things to be dealt with and finalized.
This was my room, after things were moved to storage. It was also the last night in Sheffield, or probably just a few hours left.
I'm definitely going to miss this place. The location, environment, and people are just great and it's just comfortable. Not to mention I love the cleanliness and view of this spacious common room.
Just in case if you've wondered, this place is called Opal 2. I must say the convenience and security are just worth a praise. Just 5 minutes or less from the University's Library and there's a small Tesco nearby. Very close to many places a student would go to.
One down side about this place is, the tap water in the kitchen tend to have a common problem in all the flats. The hot water is too hot, the cold water is too cold. Hence, the invention. Not very much of a biggie but thought this invention was worth showing as it has saved the hands of many.
This is the pair of slippers I bought from Primark. It has survived through rain or shine with me, and saved my foot from many small accidents in the kitchen.
Not having a pair of proper slippers, this pair served as an outdoor slipper when laziness strikes. It has been to Tesco with me and been around many blocks and flats near mine.
But, I have no idea where it is right now. The last time I saw it was in the garbage bin as it was tearing apart.
The train station at 3am. Earliest train of the day heading to Manchester Airport. I was pretty worried I would be delayed by any unforeseen circumstances so I took a super early train to the airport.
Talking about that, I actually slept for only 2 hours before heading to the station, and carelessly locked my luggage that had the key inside. The day before, I slept at 4am and woke up at 7am. Another day before, I slept at 6am and woke up at 10am. I was basically deprived of sleep that week.

The basically slept through the whole 7 hours flight to Abu Dhabi. The flight was pretty empty actually. I had a whole row of seats to myself so i tucked myself in with warm fleece blankets and pillows. My allocated seat was actually somewhere else, the guy probably wondered why I never returned for so long.
7 hours transit in Abu Dhabi was tiring. But I'd say I like this airport better. Less busy and less people compared to Dubai. The air conditioning was cold enough as well.
However, the flight from Abu Dhabi was delayed 2 hours so I missed my flight from Kuala Lumpur back to Kuching. Was replaced with another ticket as my flight was a connecting one.
Hungry me was starving but I was already in the domestic departures and the only source of food was Marybrown. But at least I got to see the new coin that was recently released!
And touch down! Sadly, luggage was left in Kuala Lumpur. Pretty ridiculous as I already went to the counter to confirm that my luggage would be sent to Kuching. But it really doesn't bother me much, airport isn't far from home.
But anyways, now I'm back! Going out soon, tata for now!
