On the seventh day, which is known as 人日/The common man's birthday, we had Yu Sheng!
It was pretty nice meeting new people and having made the whole thing from scratch. We also went through all the procedures whereby one has to read what each and every ingredient represented.
I think this is the first CNY in my life filled with so many Yu Sheng moments. On the 11th day, we had 2 of it again. But this was the pre-packed ones.
And on Chap Goh Meh itself, which is the 15th and last day for CNY celebration, I went to a dinner at this new restaurant. Food was pretty nice honestly. Later on we went to a park for fireworks, sparkles and flying lanterns. I must say the fireworks here you buy (legally, of course) is incomparable to the ones we get in Malaysia :P Heh. Did some light painting using the sparklers as well!
Other than that, my friend who went back to Malaysia for CNY brought back stuff (mostly food actually) for me from my parents! Yay, delicacies!
That's pretty much my Chinese New Year here. Really do feel sad missing such an important celebration back home. But I guess in life you make choices, and in choices, you normally only get to pick one, leaving the other behind. Haha. Aight, in the next post imma update my first Snow experience here!
